The worlds first-ever 1.25 oz silver coin, the Canadian Bison Silver Series features new designs on the reverse face of the coins. The first release in 2015 depicted a plains bison running in a field in the valley at the foot of a mountain range. The second release in 2016 showed a plains bison drinking from a small body of water. The final design of the collection was released in 2017 and featured the wood bison, a subspecies native to Canada.
