History

The thick fur of a panda helps it survive the cool and damp weather of its natural bamboo forest habitat. Each hair is hollow in the middle, offering extra insulation similar to polar bear fur. A pandas skin underneath is black where the fur is black and pink under the white fur. This unique pattern forms early and remains unchanged throughout the pandas lifetime.
