The 2 oz Silver Egyptian Relic Bar (Goddesses) is a .999 fine silver bullion ingot skillfully made entirely by hand by the Monarch Mint. These are newly minted bars designed to look like ancient stone relics chipped off of the side of a tomb. No two bars are exactly alike as they have been purposely hand struck off center and given an application of “antique” patina along with an “anti-polish” to add to the look of old world charm.
The front of the bar features two standing Egyptian Goddess figures (Hathor and Mut) and the back of the bar features two seated Egyptian Goddess figures (Isis and Ma’at). The reverse (seated) side also features the inscriptions, “999 FINE SILVER” and “TWO TROY OUNCE”.

Hathor is one of the most famous goddesses of Ancient Egypt. She was known as “the Great One of Many Names” and her titles and attributes are so numerous that she was important in every area of the life and death of the ancient Egyptians. She is the daughter of the Sun god Ra and the sky goddess Nut, and is believed to be one of the Eyes of Ra, who brought destruction to humankind in the form of the goddess Sekhmet. The Greeks loved her as well, equating her to their goddess Aphrodite.
Mut is the Mother goddess and the queen of all gods whose following started in Waset in Thebes. The ancient Egyptians considered the vulture to be a protecting and nurturing mother, and so their word for mother was also the word for a vulture, “Mwt”. Mut was also closely associated with a number of other goddesses such as Isis and Nut, and was worshipped as a member of a number of composite deities. When Thebes became the national capital, the local Theban gods and goddesses became national deities. This made Mut associated with the queen, the mother of the nation. Her name may be alternatively spelled as Maut and Mout that roughly translates to mother.
Isis is an ancient Egyptian goddess who became the most popular and enduring of all the Egyptian deities. She is known to be the Goddess of magic and wisdom. Her name comes from the Egyptian Eset, (“the seat”) which referred to her stability and also the throne of Egypt as she was considered the mother of every pharaoh through the king’s association with Horus, Isis’ son. Her name has also been interpreted as Queen of the Throne, and her original headdress was the empty throne of her murdered husband Osiris.
Maat, also known as Ma’at or Mayet, was a female goddess in the ancient Egyptian religion who represented truth, justice, balance and morality. The daughter of the Egyptian sun deity Ra and wife of the moon god Thoth, she served a kind of spirit of justice to the Egyptians. She decided whether a person would successfully reach the afterlife, by weighing their soul against her feather of truth, and was the personification of the cosmic order and a representation of the stability of the universe. The earliest writings where she is mentioned date back to the Old Kingdom of Egypt more than 2,300 years ago.
