In 2021, the American Silver Eagle experienced its first major design change since the series began in 1986. The US Mint used the coins 35th anniversary as the perfect opportunity to introduce a new reverse design. With this 2-coin set, collectors can get both the original and the new 2021 versions. Each coin in this 2021 1 oz American Silver Eagle 2-Coin Set is sealed in a plastic slab with an American flag label and has been certified as Mint State 70 by PCGS. These coins are flawless, with full mint luster and no imperfections. The First Strike label means they were submitted for grading within 30 days of their release from the mint.
Obverse
The obverse of both Silver Eagle coins in this 2-coin set features the classic Walking Liberty design. Designed by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916, it shows Liberty walking toward the rising sun with the American flag flowing around her. This image originally appeared on the Walking Liberty Half Dollar.
Reverse
On the reverse side, the two coins offer different eagle designs. The Type 1 version displays John Mercantis heraldic eagle, which features a bald eagle with a shield and a ribbon in its beak. The Type 2 coin has a modern design by Emily Damstra, showing a bald eagle in flight holding an oak branch. This new design was officially introduced in the second half of 2021.
History
The change between the Type 1 and Type 2 coins took place in mid-2021. The US Mint struck Type 1 coins through June, then stopped production to update the dies. In July, they began releasing the new Type 2 coins with the updated reverse artwork to mark the anniversary year.

How Does Free Shipping Work?
When the subtotal of your purchase, including applicable discounts, is $199 or more, you receive free shipping for your entire order. In order to receive free shipping on purchases of $199 or more, you must live within the 50 US states. For orders less than $199, a $9.95 shipping fee applies. All products are discreetly packaged and shipped with full insurance included.
When will my order ship?
Most BGASC orders are shipped within one (1) business day of your payment clearing. Payments made via PayPal clear instantly. Bitcoin payments clear instantly once the transaction is confirmed. Credit Card and bank wire payments process within 1 business day. ACH and paper check payments take 3-5 business days. Once payments are processed, products are released to fulfillment for packaging and shipping.
Can I choose the method of shipping?
All orders of $199 or more that are eligible for free shipping are, by default, shipped via a carrier of our choice (USPS or UPS). Depending on the contents and size of your purchase, you may be able to upgrade to a specific carrier during checkout.
Will I need to sign for my package?
For those orders of $999.99 or less, there is no need to sign for your package. However, you may select the option to require a signature at delivery if you want. This can be chosen and paid for at checkout. All orders of $1000 or more require a signature to complete delivery.
What about International Orders?
BGASC is only able to ship to addresses in any of the 50 US states. This includes P.O. boxes and APO addresses.
