Reverse

The reverse of these coins features the symbolic American Bald Eagle. The head of the bird is depicted in painstaking detail and it is surrounded by several markings. These marks include the coins weight, metal content, face value, and In God We Trust.

History

The American Eagle Coin series has been minted since 1986. The U.S. Mint began producing this coin in that year due to the passage of the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985. The coin has been minted every year since its inception and is one of the globes top-selling gold bullion coins to this day.
