History

The Winged Victory statue at the top of the Mexican Independence Victory Column was designed by Italian sculptor Enrico Rcn and was inaugurated in 1910 as part of Mexicos centennial celebrations. The statue features a golden-colored figure with wings spread and holding a laurel wreath in one hand, symbolizing Mexicos hard-won independence and national pride.
