The obverse of the coin features the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests, a prominent building in the Temple of Heaven complex in south-central Beijing, serving as a religious gathering place for nearly 400 years.

History

Introduced in 2016, the 30 Gram Gold Panda replaced the previously issued 1 oz Gold Panda when the Chinese Mint switched to metric weights. This change aligns with the metric system used throughout the Peoples Republic of China for weights and measurements. Since then, the Chinese Mint has exclusively issued the 30 Gram Gold Panda.
