Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) 24kt Gold Bullion Bars at BGASC
One of the most well-known mints in the world is the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM). The RCM originated as a branch of the Royal Mint in Ottawa in 1908. By 1931, the mint was transferred over to the Canadian government. Shortly after, they established a new facility for refining gold for banks and mines. Since 1969, that facility has been producing .9999 pure gold bars. The RCM has been at the forefront of producing high-purity gold bars for the public. Types of Bars
At BGASC, we have two types of RCM gold bars, minted ingots and cast bars. Minted ingots start as blanks (the shape of a bar with no design elements.) Blanks are put into a machine that uses thousands of pounds of pressure to stamp design elements onto it. Cast bars start as ingots are placed into a mold. The mold is heated, and the metal is removed once it has cooled.
- 1 oz RCM Gold Bar: This 1 oz gold bar is a minted ingot that arrives in a sealed blisterpack. Made with .9999 pure gold, this bar features identifying marks of the bar on the obverse. This includes the RCM logo, the metal content and purity, and a serial number. On the reverse, a repeating pattern of the logo is displayed.
- 1 Kilo RCM Gold Bar: The 1 kilo gold bar is a cast bar that comes in protective plastic. These bars are also made with .9999 pure gold and feature similar design elements on the obverse as the minted ingot. Shown on the obverse is the logo, metal content, and purity, along with a serial number. However, the reverse of these bars is intentionally left blank.
