Sizes of our Silver Bars
At BGASC, you can purchase all types of silver bars. These bars can range in size from fractional ounces (1/2 Troy oz, 30 grams) to as large as 100 Troy oz.
Minted Ingots
The most common silver bar you’ll see at BGASC are our minted ingots. A minted ingot starts off as a “blank” which is a piece of metal that is in the shape of a bar, but it’s smooth with no design. These blanks are loaded into a machine that uses thousands of pounds of force to apply design elements to it, creating a minted ingot. Some popular distributors of these minted ingots are SilverTowne, Sunshine Minting, and PAMP Suisse.
Cast Silver Bars
Another great option is our cast bars. These bars are made by placing silver shot, or ingots, into a mold or cast. This mold is then heated, oftentimes via induction technology. Once the silver is cooled, it is removed and stamped with design elements. Many mints create cast silver bars, such as the Germania Mint, Johnson Matthey, and Engelhard.
Hand Poured Silver Bars
Hand-poured silver bars are also immensely popular and undergo a similar process as cast silver bars. These bars are made by pouring molten silver into a mold. One side of the bar is left exposed, while the molten silver is cooled. This gives these bars a hand-made look and feel. Some popular producers of these bars are Monarch Metals and MK Barz.
Numismatic Silver Bars
When browsing our selection of silver bars, you’ll notice many numismatic options. This can include colorized silver bars, antique silver bars, and even bars made with ultra-high relief visuals.
Divisible Silver Bars
Another unique option is our array of divisible silver bars. These are large silver bars that can be easily broken off into smaller pieces. One popular example is the CombiBar, from Valcambi. However, there are other individual options as well.
