Types of Poured Silver Bars
At BGASC, you’ll notice two main types of Poured Silver Bars, cast bars and hand-poured bars. While the process in which they’re made is similar, they do differ a little.
- Cast Silver Bars: Silver shot or ingots are placed into a mold that is completely enclosed. The silver is heated, usually through induction technology. Once the silver has cooled, it’s removed and given design elements to one side of the bar.
- Hand-Poured Silver Bars: Molten silver is poured into a mold that has one side left exposed. The metal is allowed to cool in the mold before being removed and cleaned.
